Welcome to Lighthouse Christian School! We are dedicated to providing a Christ-centered, quality education for students from PreK to 12th grade. Our mission is to assist parents in training their children to be leaders and disciples of Jesus Christ.
Founded in 1979, we have been serving the Nashville area for over four decades. We pride ourselves on offering a safe and wholesome environment for our students to learn and grow. Our commitment to quality education helps us shape the next generation of Christ-centered leaders.
Our founder, Dr. Alfred G. Henson, is a respected leader in middle TN and Southeast Asia. He has been instrumental in developing a number of charitable ministries that help thousands of people in need. He is also the founder of the Compassionate Hope Foundation, which focuses on rescuing and preventing human trafficking of children and young people in Southeast Asia.
While our founder's passion for ministry is important to us, our primary focus is providing our students with an exceptional education that helps them grow spiritually and academically. We are proud of our mission-driven team and our collective focus to serve and support the families of Middle TN through a Christ-centered, quality education.

For months now, our leadership team has been praying over one question above all others: who will God bring to lead Lighthouse into its next season? We believe He has answered clearly, and it is our joy to introduce you to Pastor Troy Powell, who will serve as President and Acting Head of Schools at Lighthouse Christian.
Pastor Troy steps into this role with a conviction we share deeply: that excellence, education, and Jesus belong together. Not as three separate priorities competing for attention, but as one calling. A school built on all three can send students into the world prepared in both mind and spirit, and that is precisely the school we want for your children.
He brings more than twenty years of ministry experience with him, including the past eight as lead pastor of Victory Church. That season shaped him as a shepherd first, and it shows in how he thinks about this work. He is not coming to run an institution. He is coming to come alongside you, the parents who carry the first and highest responsibility for raising your children, and to help you raise leaders and disciples of Christ.

Pastor Troy and his wife, Darla, have been married for twenty years and are raising two daughters of their own. When he talks about what he wants for Lighthouse families, he talks about what he wants for his own girls: a place where academic excellence is simply expected, where character is formed with intention, and where Jesus is at the center of all of it. That is not a marketing promise. It is a father’s standard.
He also carries a genuine heart for Antioch. He knows this city, loves this city, and is eager to serve alongside our staff so that Lighthouse Christian continues to be a light here for years to come.
