Joshua Melchor earned his degree in Math at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas. He also doubled majored with a bachelor’s Degree in Youth and Social Ministry and Christian Studies at Crown College in Minnesota. He has ten years of experience as a math tutor helping struggling students master core concepts and improving classroom academic expectations. This is his first-year teaching at Lighthouse Christian School.
Joshua has extensive experience with overseas and domestic mission trips guiding youth groups through the experience of serving others. He also was a wilderness guide, mentor and bible teacher at Rock Ridge Camp in the boundary waters of Minnesota working with various youth groups. Additionally, he has served as a counselor/mentor at Shelterwood Academy working with at-risk teens and their families.
Currently, Joshua attends church at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship where he volunteers as a leader in the youth group. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, camping and spending time with his family and two dogs.
