Carlton Battle, a native of Nashville, brings over 20 years of coaching experience with him. Leading youth across the Nashville area in Basketball, Track and Field, and Football. Battle’s exciting up tempo brand of basketball with effort, intensity, and enthusiasm, is sure to excite the Lighthouse Christian community.
Battle has spent the last four years reviving the Whites Creek High School boys’ basketball team. Battle acquired a team with a 0-23 season. He was dedicated to build a program that valued hard work, preparation, discipline, integrity, loyalty, honesty, and character. Under his leadership the team went to 3 state tournaments, from 2016 – 2018. In addition, accomplishing post season titles: a District Regular Season Championship; 1 District Tournament Championship and 1 Runner-up; 3 Sectional Championships; 1 Regional Tournament Championship and 2 Runner-up; and 2 State Tournament Final Fours and 1 Quarter Finalist.
Prior to that Mr. Battle spent a year at Cumberland University as an assistant men’s basketball coach.
Battle spent 15 years as the director and coach of the Team Nashville basketball club, which yielded Division I and professional athletes.
Mr. Battle’s educational background includes 10 years of teaching and administrative roles in public and private sectors. Teaching math and science, serving as a Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal, his goals were to encourage students to value the opportunity of receiving a great education and to commit to graduating.
Mr. Battle lives in Nashville, with his wife Cristen, of 13 years. The have three children Ryan, and Reece, both boys that attend Lighthouse. Riley, their first girl, and just a toddler.
